Battle Christmas Lights Switch-On

Enjoy a parade, meet Santa and be thoroughly entertained as we welcome the festive season to Battle.

1:45pm – Father Christmas and his band of elves and reindeer will set off and parade down the high street with Santa’s Sleigh, Second Line Youth Band and Santa’s reindeer and friends.

2:00-4:30pm – the charity market will be open in the Wynne room (upstairs in the Memorial Hall). Refreshments will also be available but in the Shepherd room, courtesy of the WI.

2:15-4:45pm – Santa’s Grotto will be open in the Memorial Hall. All tickets will be sold on the door for £2.50 each on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we recommend getting there early to avoid disappointment! Please be prepared to queue (don’t worry – we’ll have some entertainment for you while you wait!) When it’s your turn to see Father Christmas, please have your cameras ready for photos.

2:15-5:00pm – fairground rides and festive entertainment on the abbey green. Father Christmas’s sleigh will also be available for photos.

5pm – The Big Switch On! Father Christmas will head out to the abbey green, and we’ll count him down to switch the Christmas light on for 2023.

5:00-7:00pm – our fantastic Battle businesses will be staying open late. They’ve been working hard on a Christmas Through the Ages display this year. Pick up a leaflet and vote for your favourite!
