Caroline: Caroline, thank you very much for getting back to me. I've a 55 year old daughter named Caroline, its a lovely name.
The Bapt would probably be at St Mary's Church and the period
would be JAN to MARCH 1925, as that is the GRO Ref for the civil registration.
I can't get down there myself, I'm too long in the tooth now, and I would appreciate if, the next time you are in a position to have a look for me, I would be eternally grateful. MAURICE WILLIAM FRANKS the man concerned is the father- in- law of my daughter
Caroline who is now a FRANKS. Thanks so much and its nice to speak to you, TED from CHESHIRE.

Ted Lunt: Dear Ted
The parish registers for St Mary's church at Battle are held at the East Sussex County Records Office (ESRO) at Lewes, East Sussex. The Battle parish registers have not been microfilmed so you would be able to view the original register but would not be able to obtain a photocopy of an entry.
There were/are other churches/chapels at Battle - Methodist, Baptist, Roman Catholic, Congregational (now closed and turned into a shop). If you are unable to visit ESRO, Lewes yourself I might be able to help you by checking the register next time I visit.

Kind regards

Robert White: Robert, hi there. My son- in- law's father was born in BATTLE, HASTINGS, in the period Jan to March 1925, and I'm wondering
if you could give me a clue as to how many churches there were
in BATTLE at that time, as I would like to get a copy of the church
Baptism Records. I know I can send for a birth certificate from the GRO
but I prefer to see a copy of the church entry.
Do you know anywhere where the records might be kept, ie Records Office, Reference Library, church etc.
Im hoping you can help me. Thanks every so. TED LUNT.
